Research & Planning Checklist

Research:
Audience research - audience profile, survey/Voxpop with analysis of the result
Industry research into your chosen genre – Bring into this some of the work you did for AS (Section B of exam)
Codes and conventions of genre
Mood boards
Structure of trailers
Examples of actors/characters associated with genre
Examples of films associated with the genre
Planning:


Call sheets, story boards, scripts, animatics, shot lists, filming schedule, etc. (include drafts)
Risk assessments and letters/emails requesting permission for the use of music tracks.
Character profiles
Locations/settings

Remember to:
  • Analyse a variety of related media texts.
  • Use a variety of sources i.e. websites, journals, media products (DVDs etc).
  • Cite research sources accurately i.e. name and date of websites accessed, name and publication year date of journals used.
